Need help registering online?

There are three areas where people sometimes need help when registering online. Here are some quick tips.

What to do when you reach the screen ‘Do you want to get a NAIT number now?’

Select “yes”. This is because you need a NAIT number to move animals so NAIT recommends you get a NAIT number now. Your NAIT number links you to the animals you are responsible for at a particular location, via the NAIT database.

 
What to do if you can’t find your farm

You can enter your farm details manually. To do this click on the blue “Click here” at the end of the bold sentence in the middle of your screen:

 
What to enter in 'How many animals will be untagged on their farm for 2012'

There is a three-year grace period from 1 July (2012) for farmers to tag animals born before 1 July, unless they are moving off-farm. However, farmers are required to provide NAIT with an estimate each year of how many cattle and/or deer on their properties currently remain untagged. This information would be useful if there is a biosecurity event during the three-year grace period.
