Requirements for information providers

The NAIT accreditation standard is now available.

The key guiding principles of the standard are that accurate data is submitted to NAIT Limited on time and that that the integrity of the system is maintained at all times.  There is therefore an emphasis on the integrity of systems. The competency of people collecting and submitting data, the keeping of records, data back-up and the protection of data.  These requirements are set out in the draft standard.

In essence information providers will be required to:

  • employ or contract people that have the competencies necessary to perform the function of an information provider
  • have sufficient resources including (but not limited to) hardware and software systems
  • have entered into a data-sharing agreement with NAIT Ltd that provides for data management and quality, protection of personal privacy and data security
  • have the capability to upload data to the NAIT Limited database within set timeframes
  • be incorporated in New Zealand or have a place of business in New Zealand if incorporated offshore.
