Sending animals
Under the NAIT scheme, animal movements must be recorded by both the sending and receiving parties. All movements of animals must be recorded within 48 hours of the movement occurring. Before you move your animals, make sure they are all NAIT tagged and registered in the NAIT system.

Remember that you are still legally required to complete an Animal Status Declaration (ASD) form for all animal movements. This must accompany the animals when they move.
If you are sending animals to a NAIT accredited entity such as a meat processor or sale yard, they will record the sending movement on your behalf.
Moving exempt animals
As fallow and trophy deer are exempt from tagging requirements they cannot be individually traced in the NAIT system. However, you must still record the movement of these animals.
